Your purchase includes a 2-year, best-in-industry, limited warranty on manufacturing defects and related failures on the Lightfoot and most of its durable components, to include:
Structural: Frame, Saddle, Kickstand, Locking Cargo Bay
Electrical:
Hub Motors, Controller, Battery*, On-Board Charger*, Display*, Wiring Harness*, Brakes, Throttle, Solar Panels, MPPT, Headlight, Taillight, Horn
*these items are warrantied for 1-year
Warranty is valid for 2 years from date of purchase for original owner and includes access to customer technical support via phone, chat, or email M-F 9am-5pm Eastern. Proof of purchase is required with any warranty claim. Warranty claims may be voided or not honored based on the situations described in the Warranty Limitations section.
Warranty Limitations
The 2-year Lightfoot warranty does NOT cover the following:
- Components limited to 1-year warranty coverage.
- Normal wear and tear on common non-durable Lightfoot components to include tires, tubes, grips, brake pads that are subject to routine periodic replacement based on usage. Non-durable items usually have a lifespan of a few months up to three years.
- Routine maintenance as described in the User Manual schedule. If recommended maintenance is not performed in accordance with the User Manual, warranty may be voided
- Any damage or loss of performance due to user modifications to the product, to include hardware or software alterations or conversions not specifically approved by the manufacturer.
- Any failure or malfunction of accessories not manufactured, assembled, or installed by Lightfoot Electric, Inc. or a certified repair facility or individual, including, but not limited to, motors, tires, wheels, and batteries.
- Battery damage or reduced efficiency resulting from power surges, use of an improper charger, improper maintenance, tampering, or other such misuse, normal wear, or water damage.
- Any reimbursement for damage from road hazards, towing, loss of time, loss of use, inconvenience, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Damage due to weather-related water, wind, or other Acts of God. The customer is responsible for storage and protection of their Lightfoot from weather hazards.
- Minor surface blemishes, rips, tears, flat tires, or other cosmetic damages due to normal or other use, or other intentional or unintentional damage to the product unless present prior to customer initial inspection and use.
- Damage due to the application of improper cleaners, solvents, or chemicals to the product; water damage, smoke or soot, or damage from exposure to saltwater or sea breeze.
- Normal aging, such as fading of paint, deterioration of rubber or plastics, rusting, or natural corrosion, including screws, nuts, and bolts.
- Damage due to improper operation, repair, or misdiagnosis of problems by the user or non-certified technician after it is received by the user.
- Damage or reimbursement for loss (including items in cargo area) due to Acts of God, vandalism, theft, misuse, disuse, neglect, or use other than as specified in the User Manual, or use under abnormal conditions. This includes damages due to accidents or any form of personal negligence to include exceeding the maximum number of riders (2) or combined rider(s) and storage weight of 400 pounds/180 kg, speeding, off-roading, driving recklessly or in unauthorized areas, attempting to jump curbs, or other high-risk usage.
- Reimbursement of shipping and packaging costs if the customer elects to return the Lightfoot without prior approval from the manufacturer for any reason, to include buyer’s remorse.
- Reimbursement for repair or maintenance costs, including both parts and labor, of the Lightfoot without prior notification and approval from the manufacturer.
- Components not purchased through Lightfoot Electric, Inc. Use of non-OEM parts may impact the Lightfoot's operation and void the product warranty completely.
- Replacement of a lost, towed, destroyed, or stolen Lightfoot.
- Any Lightfoot that is improperly transferred to a new owner without following the manufacturer’s prescribed warranty transfer process.
- Products used for commercial or large volume and/or high mileage usage, such as rentals or other, are exempt from warranties as they see substantial wear and tear exposure and related abuse and misuse.
- Any warranty claim for a Lightfoot located outside of the Continental United States.
Shipping Damage
- Lightfoot is shipped ready-to-ride out of the box. Due to its size, you may be asked to schedule an appointment for delivery.
- Purchaser is responsible for ensuring the ability for the purchased product to be shipped to its location and securing the product upon arrival. When your order arrives, please be sure to inspect the Lightfoot exterior box right away.
- It is recommended that two people lift the Lightfoot box should you need to do so.
- When your order arrives, please be sure to inspect the Lightfoot exterior box right away.
- If the packaging appears damaged on the outside, please note the damage on the proof of delivery slip and take a photo of any packaging damage before opening. If the Lightfoot exterior packaging is damaged, please notify us immediately, as claims for damaged goods must be presented to the carrier within 24 hours of receipt. Lightfoot Electric, Inc. cannot be held responsible for visible shipment damage not reported to us within 24 hours.
- Once you open the Lightfoot packaging, inspect the e-scooter for any visible physical damage. If the Lightfoot itself is damaged, please notify us within 3 business days of opening the packaging and before you operate the e-scooter as we cannot accept claims on Lightfoot physical damage after 3 business days. We encourage you to take your Lightfoot for a test drive within 3 business days of receipt. If the Lightfoot does not operate as anticipated or described, refer to troubleshooting procedures in the User Manual. If the issue persists, please contact us as soon as possible via phone, chat, or email.
- It is recommended that if space allows, the customer keep the packaging in the event it is returned or re-sold in the future. Specialized packaging is required to ship Lightfoot and the customer will be responsible for the cost of it.
- We will process any insurance or warranty claims on your behalf and diligently work with you to resolve the issue and repair or replace your order.
Cancellation and Refund Policy
You may cancel your Lightfoot order for a full refund anytime before it is shipped. If you cancel within 30 days of when your Lightfoot shipped, and before it arrives at a US warehouse, whichever comes first, you will be refunded your purchase cost, minus a 2%of purchase price (not including taxes or shipping) re-stocking fee to cover warehouse storage costs. If you cancel after 30 days of shipment date or decide to return it after you received Lightfoot due to buyer’s remorse or some reason other than documented damage to the Lightfoot itself, you will be refunded your purchase fee, minus the shipping fees associated with returning Lightfoot to our designated US address with our designated carrier, which will likely be $300-$500. All refunds will be issued back on the same credit card used to purchase the Lightfoot.
Warranty Claims and Returns Process
We hope you enjoy riding Lightfoot, but in the event it did not live up to your expectations, we want to hear what your concerns are and remedy them in a fair and timely manner. The process for warranty claims and returns is similar. You will need the following info to submit the warranty claim and/or Request Merchandise Authorization (RMA) (link here):
- Customer last name, address, phone number and email
- Order #, purchase date, and and serial number
- Reason for warranty claim or return (drop-down menu)
- Additional information field and space for photo uploads
To qualify for an RMA
- Product must be unused or if used, in the same condition in which it was received.
- Product must be returned in the same packaging, and include all original documentation, accessories and/or items with which it came.
- Return must be initiated within 30 calendar days of receipt of the product.
- Returns may not be initiated or shipped from addresses outside of the continental US
- A Customer Service representative will inspect the RMA submission and provide authorization to ship or request additional information within 5 business days.
- If a warranty claim is validated, Lightfoot, Inc has sole discretion to replace or repair the non-functional component(s) within a 2-week period from claim submission.
- As mentioned, Lightfoot is an over-sized shipping item and returning it will cost several hundred dollars, so you must receive approval through our RMA process before returning any item to us.
